Auction Rules

  • Please click here to register and receive a seller ID number*.
  • Once registered, please add auction items to your account*, providing:
    • Item category
    • Condition
    • Manucacturer
    • Model
    • Description.
    • An optional minimum selling price.
      • If no minimum selling price is provided, the seller must accept the winning bid with no minimum.
  • Commission to the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will be 15% of each item's selling price with a maximum commission of $45 per item.
  • All sellers will be paid out, as time permits, during the auction.
  • The auctioneer will announce each seller. When your name and/or ID number are called, please pay attention.
  • If the highest bid for an item is below, but close to the minimum selling price, the auctioneer will ask the seller if they would like to sell at the winning bid amount.
  • If the seller offers multiples of an item for auction, the first one will be auctioned, and the others will be offered for sale at a price equal to the wining bid received for the first one.
  • The following types of items are eligible for auction:
    • Ham radio gear
    • Ham radio parts
      • Parts, tubes, circuit boards, etc. will be auctioned in lots only.
      • Each lot must be contained in a small box.
    • Computer towers
    • Laptops
    • Computer monitors
    • Tablets
  • The following types of items are NOT eligible for auction:
    • Video equipement (e.g., TVs, VCRs, DVD players)
    • Audio equipment (e.g., stereo receivers, turntables, CD players, speakers)
    • Telephone equipment (e.g., handsets, answering machines)
    • Tools
  • The decision of the auctioneer and/or the auction chairman will be final in all matters related to bidding and auctionability of items.
  • All unsold items must be removed from the premises by the seller who brought them. No dumpster will be available.

Rules for auctioning computers

  • Computer towers, monitors, laptops and tablets may be auctioned.
  • The discription of each Windows, Apple or Linux computer or tablet must include:
    • Age of the device
    • Amount of RAM
    • Operating system version
    • For towers and laptops, the amount of Hard drive or SSD storage
    • For towers and laptops, the types of video output supported, e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, etc.
    • For Windows computers, whether or not Windows 11 is supported
  • The description of all monitors must include:
    • Age
    • Size measured diagonally
    • Types of inputs supported, e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, etc.

 
*Sellers who have no access to a computer may register using paper forms at the event.
