Auction Rules and Regulations

  • Please click here to register as a seller for free and receive one complementary, non-buyer admission*.
  • Once registered, please add auction items to your account, providing:
    • Item category
    • Condition
    • Manufacturer
    • Model
    • Description.
    • An optional minimum selling price.
      • If no minimum selling price is provided, the seller must accept the winning bid with no minimum.
  • Commission to the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will be 15% of each sold item's selling price with a maximum commission of $45 per item.
  • Sellers may request payment for paid items during the auction.
  • The auctioneer will announce each seller. When your name and/or ID number are called, please pay attention.
  • If the highest bid for an item is below, but close to the minimum selling price, the auctioneer will ask the seller if they would like to sell at the winning bid amount.
  • If the seller offers multiples of an item for auction, the first one will be auctioned, and the others will be offered for sale at a price equal to the winning bid received for the first one.
  • The following types of items are eligible for auction:
    • Ham radio gear
    • Ham radio parts
      • Parts, tubes, circuit boards, etc. will be auctioned in lots only.
      • Each lot must be contained in a small box.
    • Computer towers
    • Laptops
    • Computer monitors
    • Tablets
  • The following types of items are NOT eligible for auction:
    • Video equipment (e.g., TVs, VCRs, DVD players)
    • Computes having Win XP or Win 7 installed
    • Monitors with a 4:3 aspect ratio
    • Computer parts (e.g., Motherboards, HDDs, SSDs, Video Cards, Keyboards)
    • Audio equipment (e.g., stereo receivers, turntables, CD players, speakers)
    • Telephone equipment (e.g., handsets, answering machines)
    • Tools
  • The decision of the auctioneer and/or the auction chairman will be final in all matters related to bidding and auctionability of items.
  • All unsold items must be removed from the premises by the seller who brought them. No dumpster will be available.

Rules for auctioning computers

  • All computes must have one of the following operating systems installed: Win10, Win11, Linux or Apple OS.
  • All monitors must be widescreen and must support one or more HDMI or Display Port inputs.
  • Each computer must include a description that states the following:
    • Operating system and version
    • CPU speed
    • Amount of RAM installed
    • Size of Hard drive or SSD storage
    • Video outputs supported (HDMI, Display Port, etc.)
    • Win 10 computers must specify if they are Win 11 compliant.
  • Each monitor must include a description that states the following:
    • Size measured diagonally
    • Video inputs supported (HDMI, Display Port, etc.)

 
*On-site seller registration will also be available for $5.00 and does not include one free non-buyer admission. We strongly recommend online registration to make seller check-in supper quick and stress-free for everyone.
